The Wilderness Within Us

These works brings a radical shift in perspective. The solitude of an unheated room is replaced by the humid, pulsating energy of tropical rainforests. These works guide us to a utopian world: organic, biomorphic structures and non-figurative landscape depictions merge, where nature reveals itself in its pure, wild reality, free from human presence.

The dynamics of the images are given by the courageous, expressive gestures and the elemental mixing of materials. The water almost comes to life on the canvases: sometimes it crashes like a stormy sea, sometimes it flows like a peaceful bamboo stream. The artist uses layers, collage and colors as if he were projecting a dynamic “moving picture” before us. The textures no longer convey confinement, but the overgrowth of nature, materiality and unpredictability.
